#ACCESSING A UPNP PLAYER FROM MY INTRANET HOW TO#
I've read that maybe some ports would have to be opened to allow an incoming connection to my PC but I an't figure out how to do this either. I've got Mcafee personal firewall and I've tried looking to see if the network and sharing settings make any sense to me, no luck there either. If I look on the BT outer home page, I can see the receiver as an 'Unknown Device' correcty listed as an ethernet connection with the addresses. I have tried to enable sharing on WMP12 but nothing happens i.e the receiver is still not picked up as a device on the network. I am using Windows 8 and Windows Media Player 12. The PC also does not recgnise the receiver in 'Networks and Sharing'. The problem is that the reciever does not recgnise my PC (PC is wirelessly connected to the network) under the 'Server' input option. How exactly should I go about doing this? I've read the re-read the manual, Googled and even rang Richer Sounds for help but the solution continues to elude me. I would now like to play music stored on my PC through the receiver. With the above steps, I can now listen to internet radio, update firmware, control the reciver with the iPhone App etc etc. Updated iPhone App with IP address of the reciever, found in the 'info' menu. Connected AVR and Wireless Router (BT Home Hub) via ethernet cable.Ģ. I am now trying to connect the AV Reciever to my home network and these are the steps I have followed.ġ. I also bought a pair of Wharfedale Amber 20.4 floorstanders. Looking at the level of knowledge on here I'm hoping you guys can help me out.Ī few days ago I purchased a RX-820 from Richer Sounds. This is my first post here so please be gentle.
